The rapid development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and new business models poses complex challenges to the contemporary legal framework, making synergy between academia and practical application more crucial than ever.
With the aim of establishing a solid bridge between the academic community and the growing technology sector, the Faculty of Law at the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro have officially concluded a Memorandum of Understanding. This document establishes a strategic framework for implementing joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest, signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Savković, and Executive Member of the Board of Directors of STP MNE, Valentina Radulović, MSc.
The signing of this strategic agreement was also attended by the Vice Dean for Science and Development of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Petar Šturanović, PhD, the Vice Dean for International and Inter-institutional Cooperation, Asst. Dr. Marina Jovićević, PhD, and the Head of Innovation Programs and Projects at STP MNE, Radivoje Drobnjak, MSc. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on future courses of action and define concrete steps toward aligning legal theory with the dynamic needs of the innovation market.
Future cooperation will focus on key intersection points between legal scholarship and the technology ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property protection, AI regulation, emerging technologies, and the creation of an enabling legal environment for startups and innovative enterprises. The partnership envisions joint research and educational programs, professional conferences and workshops, as well as participation in national and international projects.
A key highlight of this initiative is the direct link it establishes between students and the practical sector. Through professional internships, mentorship support, and practical education, future legal professionals will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to the real-world challenges facing the innovation ecosystem.
Through this partnership, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro and the Faculty of Law reaffirm their shared commitment to building a modern, competitive, and interdisciplinary environment tailored to the demands of the modern digital economy.
