In collaboration with our IT companies, through various studies in Montenegro, we see that our system does not produce enough IT professionals. Therefore, in addition to the legislative framework, an important measure in the third package is the creation of a strategic IT cluster, said Minister of Science Sanja Damjanović for TVCG.
“Namely, the Government of Montenegro, together with our IT companies, intends to create an IT academy. Thanks to the strategic partnership of our companies, we will increase exports as we will be much more successful when it comes to large projects,” emphasized Damjanović.
Damjanović believes that the IT sector is an important catalyst for the development of an innovative economy.
“Every country has unlimited potential as the demand for digital solutions is enormous. Today, in Montenegro, we have 500 IT companies, and a large number of them are innovative companies working for the international market. Only six of our IT companies contribute about 2.5% of Montenegro’s total exports,” said Damjanović.
She points out that the measures defined by the Government of Montenegro aim to make IT activity an IT industry in Montenegro.
“In order to achieve this, we need an attractive and creative environment, which other European countries, like Estonia, have created. The key segment to realize this environment is a supportive legislative framework for innovation and technological development. I am especially pleased that we have introduced two great laws with our innovative community, and that this supportive framework is a key basic measure of the third package of the Government of Montenegro,” added Damjanović.
