The building of the Science and technology park of Montenegro is designed to blend in with the surrounding environment of the University Campus and reflects modern architecture, created to attract, motivate, and retain its visitors. The existing building has been adapted and tailored to meet the needs of the Science and technology park of Montenegro, which plays a crucial role in the national framework for the development of innovative and technological companies with high growth and export potential. The entire building has been conceptually designed to offer high-quality and comfortable space with state-of-the-art infrastructure and a stimulating atmosphere.
The interior of the building is organized using a modular system, which allows for easy adaptation of spaces to different functions and purposes, depending on the future users of the space. The building is surrounded by pedestrian and vehicle traffic routes. Vehicle ramps on the west and east sides lead to a garage in the basement, with 120 parking spots designated for the building’s needs.
Interior Contents
The hierarchy of internal spaces is arranged so that the areas are carefully divided from public to private. The interventions made to the building resulted in the integration of the entire structure into a cohesive whole. The space is designed to provide users with easy access to horizontal and vertical communications to every sector of the building, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. The Science and technology park aims to provide business space and infrastructure, offering various services to future tenants, thereby fostering the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the field of high technology. With a total area of approximately 14,195.00 m², the building will house 30 to 50 technological companies that will create new value in Montenegro.
A planned photovoltaic power plant on the building’s roof will represent the latest technology in electricity production from solar panels, achieving a significant percentage of coverage for the building’s overall electricity consumption.
Smart and Energy-efficient building
By applying the concept of a “smart and energy-efficient” building, conditions will be created for the growth and development of all its tenants, setting new standards for smart building construction in Montenegro and the region. The installation of full LED and “laser blade” lighting both inside the building and on its façade will result in low energy consumption, necessary for the uninterrupted operation of all tenants. When combined with the installation of modern HVAC systems, the building will have an exceptionally high level of energy efficiency, possibly the highest in Montenegro. Technologies like “daylight harvesting,” which optimizes the combination of natural and artificial light in certain rooms for high work surface performance, and “LI-FI” technology, which uses light to transfer internet data, will set new standards in the construction of sophisticated and technologically advanced buildings. Fiber optic cables to every workstation will become a new business standard.
Modern Technologies
The installation of electric vehicle chargers in the underground garage will make the Science and technology park a unique location for promoting environmental preservation and the application of modern technologies in everyday life. The planned photovoltaic power plant on the building’s roof will represent the latest technology in electricity generation from solar panels, contributing significantly to covering the total electricity consumption of this modern building.
Architectural Design
The building’s architecture reflects the period of its creation and modern trends in both design and sustainable development, with efficient energy use, following the smart building concept through the installation of modern materials to make the building attractive to visitors and users. The design is aligned with the environment, enhancing the façade in comparison to the previous project, with the use of more modern materials. With ambient façade lighting, the visual identity and recognizability of the building will be complete, making it a symbol not only for the Capital but for all of Montenegro.
The Science and technology park is building an ambitious vision for the future of Montenegro for the benefit of all its citizens.
