Memorandum of Partnership for strengthening DeepTech ecosystem in Montenegro was signed between the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro

Within the new EIT HEI ABCD project a Memorandum of Partnership was signed on 1.12.2023 between the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, in order to strengthen DeepTech (deep technology) activities in Montenegro. This historic moment marks the deepening of cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, and lays a solid foundation for the development of innovations in the field of deep technologies.

Signatories of the Memorandum, Vice-Rector for Internationalization at the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Sanja Peković and director of the Science and Technology Park, Mr. Velibor Bošković, expressed their satisfaction that this step and partnership aims to strengthen the stimulating environment that will support research and development in the field of DeepTech, and thereby improve the technological ecosystem in Montenegro.

This cooperation will have a significant impact on the development of high-tech innovations, supporting researchers, students and entrepreneurs in their projects. Through joint efforts, the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park strive to achieve progress in the field of deep technology, thus contributing to the global community of DeepTech innovations.

With their commitment to achieving common goals, the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro plan to implement a series of activities to strengthen DeepTech innovations in our country. These activities include:

  • Guest lectures: Active participation in lectures by renowned experts in the field of deep technology, providing students and researchers with the opportunity to learn from leading experts.
  • Participation in conferences on entrepreneurship in the field of deep technology: Organization and participation in conferences that promote entrepreneurship in the field of deep technology, enabling the exchange of ideas and experiences.
  • Boot camps for students: Organization of intensive educational programs to provide students with practical skills and experience in working with the latest technologies.
  • Idea/Innovation Labs: Creation of laboratories for the development of ideas and innovations, providing space for creative research and experimentation.
  • Summer/Winter Schools and/or Internship Programs: Allowing students to participate in summer/winter schools and internship programs to gain hands-on experience in deep technology.
  • Student projects: Encouraging students to participate in projects that will enable them to gain a deeper understanding and application of deep technology.
  • Exchange of scientific materials, publications and information: Active exchange of resources to support continuous development and sharing of knowledge.
  • Research collaboration for faculty and students: Improving collaboration in research projects, participating in international conferences, applying for funding and organizing meetings for research teams.
  • Improving access to the ecosystem of successful start-ups, networks of mentors, clients and investors: Providing access to resources that support the development of startups, including mentor networks, potential clients and investors.
  • Support for cooperation and exchange of best practices in the development of deep technology: Sharing of experiences and support for the exchange of best practices in order to advance innovation in the field of deep technology.
  • Helping companies in establishing connections with potential clients/investors: Providing support to companies in the process of establishing connections with potential clients and investors.
  • Other forms of cooperation: developing other forms of cooperation in order to adequately respond to new challenges and opportunities in the field of deep technology.
