Today, the call for interested participants from the Western Balkans was announced as part of the EU4TECH PoC project. The call was introduced during the kick-off online meeting held via the Zoom platform. The webinar focused on explaining the concept of the project, introducing the team of key experts, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre – “PoC in Focus,” providing clarification on the elements of the PoC call, including the application and evaluation processes, deadlines, and implementation. During the webinar, a special session was dedicated to a Q&A segment with interested participants.
The EU4Tech PoC WB project offers support for over 40 promising technology-based projects from applicants in the Western Balkans in the “Proof of Concept” phase. Expert and mentor assistance will be provided to help in the process of validating and protecting technology, developing a business model, and approaching market placement.
The project is funded through IPA funds and is intended for collaboration with researchers from public/non-profit research organizations, as well as startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Over the course of two years (January 2020 – December 2021), a team of experts will mentor 40 “Proof of Concept” projects from the region through 6 forms of highly specialized technical assistance:
Technology development and prototype creation for commercial demonstrations
Support and mentorship in entrepreneurship
Intellectual property management
Market analysis
Business plan and business model
Subsequent funding support
