The Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, through its Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and PATLIB IP4Innovation Centre, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro – Directorate for Intellectual Property, is launching a new initiative, “PATLIB IP4Innovation – Open Doors to Intellectual Property”, aimed at providing the innovation community with direct access to expert information and institutional support in the field of intellectual property protection.
Bringing Institutions Closer to Where Innovation Happens
Every innovation begins with an idea, but its further development, commercialisation, and market potential also depend largely on the timely protection of intellectual property.
Recognising the need to facilitate access to relevant information and experts for innovators, researchers, startups, and companies, NTP CG is launching a series of thematic meetings that will connect the innovation community with representatives of institutions responsible for intellectual property protection.
The initiative envisages monthly meetings, or more frequently if needed, at the premises of the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro.
Each meeting will focus on a specific area of intellectual property — patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyright and related rights — and provide an opportunity for direct discussions with representatives of the Directorate for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Economic Development.
Unlike traditional educational events, the “Open Doors to Intellectual Property” initiative is based on an interactive approach, addressing specific questions and practical challenges that innovators and companies encounter when developing and protecting their solutions.
The goal is simple: to bring institutions closer to innovators and ensure that expert guidance is available right where innovation happens.
First Meeting Dedicated to Patents – 29 October 2026
The first thematic meeting will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the PATLIB IP4Innovation Centre, located at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro.
The guest speaker at the first meeting will be Milica Petrović Njegoš, a representative of the Patent Division within the Directorate for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive direct answers to questions about:
The meeting is designed as an open and direct discussion, during which participants will also have the opportunity to raise other questions relevant to the development and protection of their innovations.
Intellectual Property as Part of Innovation Development
By launching this initiative, NTP CG continues to strengthen the role of its Technology Transfer Office and PATLIB IP4Innovation Centre in supporting the innovation community, particularly in the areas of intellectual property identification, protection, and management.
By fostering connections with relevant institutions, providing expert support, and raising awareness of the importance of intellectual property, the initiative aims to encourage innovators and companies to recognise the protection of their solutions as an integral part of innovation and business development, rather than merely an administrative or legal procedure.
At the same time, ongoing dialogue between the innovation community and institutions helps foster a better understanding of innovators’ specific needs and creates a more accessible environment for the development and commercialisation of innovations.
“Open Doors to Intellectual Property” represent another step towards making NTP CG a place where not only new ideas are developed, but also the conditions are created for their protection, valorisation, and successful entry into the market.
We invite NTP CG residents, innovators, researchers, startups, and all interested members of the innovation community to join us for the first meeting and take advantage of the opportunity to engage directly with representatives of the relevant institution.
Your ideas deserve protection. And now, the answers you need are coming to you.
