The development and systemic support for talented researchers represent the foundation of any advanced society, as the speed at which innovations move from laboratories to the economy depends precisely on their knowledge and working conditions.
Guided by the desire to create a stimulating environment for our scientists, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro became part of the major European project ERA-CAREERS – From Charter to Practice: Strengthening Research Careers Through Capacity Building and Communities of Practice, whose kick-off meeting was held on October 6 and 7 at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
At this significant event, our institution was represented by the Director of the Technology Transfer Office, Dr. Srna Sudar.
Together with the University of Montenegro, STP Montenegro forms the Montenegrin national cluster within this prestigious project, which gathers 17 partner institutions from eight European countries: Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Italy, Poland, Latvia, Belgium, and Cyprus. The main goal of the project is to enhance research careers and build strong communities of practice, relying on the principles of the European Charter for Researchers.
Through intensive joint work, partner institutions will develop tools and models that will directly contribute to higher quality professional development, mobility, and better interconnection of the research and innovation ecosystem.
During the two-day kick-off meeting, active work was done on defining roles, establishing thematic clusters, and planning the first concrete activities. Special attention was given to the development of innovative tools based on the Most Significant Change (MSC) methodology, as well as to detailed mapping of key challenges and new opportunities for the development of research careers at the European level.
By participating in ERA-CAREERS, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro continues to strengthen its primary role—the secure and strong connection of science, innovation, and the economy. Through such international projects, we directly ensure that the needs and experiences of the Montenegrin innovation community are recognized and represented in key European trends aimed at retaining and developing talent.
All additional information about the activities is available on the official website of the ERA-CAREERS project.
