Meetup: How to build the first Montenegrin unicorn?

The journey from local innovation to global success and a company with clients worldwide is the dream of every entrepreneur.

To bring this journey closer to the Montenegrin innovation community, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro is organizing a meetup on the topic “How to build the first Montenegrin unicorn?”.

The guest and keynote speaker will be Milo Radulović, founder of the startup MARLEQ, who will share his experience of leading a company from an initial idea born in Montenegro to a successful business. He will talk about the beginnings, his journey, successes, mistakes, lessons learned, and how an idea originating in Montenegro developed into a company with nearly 1,200 clients from over 80 countries.

The main focus of the gathering will be dedicated to analyzing the Montenegrin startup ecosystem and identifying the key steps necessary to create the first unicorn in Montenegro. Milo will share his valuable five-year experience from Estonia, analyzing what makes this Baltic country so successful and attractive for startup development.

His entrepreneurial path led him through numerous incubators, accelerators, and competitions across the Western Balkans, Slovenia, and Austria, through a mentorship program in Sweden, all the way to Estonia and Germany, from where he continued to successfully build MARLEQ for the international market.

This event is designed to provide concrete, practical value and answers to key questions from entrepreneurs. Through a conversation about the beginnings and lessons learned, you will find out firsthand how to start from scratch, build a solid team and prototype, test the market, and acquire your first clients. Additionally, the discussion will cover the most effective ways to find the right mentors, investors, and accelerators, as well as strategies for scaling globally.

The meetup will take place on Friday, October 9, starting at 10 AM at the premises of the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro. If you have an idea but aren’t sure what your next step is, or if your startup is already facing its first challenges, this is the ideal opportunity to ask questions.
