The Science and Technology Park of Montenegro organized a workshop on February 10 titled “Development of Sustainable Energy Storage in Montenegro: Policies, Market and Investments”, within the framework of the StoreMore project, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Danube Region Programme. The event brought together representatives of state institutions, energy sector institutions, the academic community, the business sector, as well as other interested stakeholders.

At the beginning of the event, the participants were addressed by Radivoje Drobnjak, Head of the Innovation Programs and Projects Department at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, and Anja Grabovica, Project Manager, who highlighted the importance, contribution, and objectives of the StoreMore project.

The workshop itself focused on a presentation by Radovan Nikčević, EU Project Manager for the Green Agenda and collaborator on the StoreMore project, who emphasized to the participants the importance of sustainable energy storage for the transition to clean energy.

In this context, he addressed the existing regulatory and market frameworks in the European Union and Montenegro, current trends and technologies in the field of energy storage, investment opportunities and available financial instruments, as well as recommendations for improving policies and increasing energy storage capacity in Montenegro.

The workshop facilitated the exchange of experiences and ideas among participants, with a focus on identifying obstacles and opportunities to improve regulatory frameworks and promote concrete energy storage projects, thus making a significant contribution to the energy transition process in Montenegro.

The Science and Technology Park will continue working on raising awareness in the field of innovative projects, focusing on the development of sustainable solutions, knowledge exchange, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the energy transition and technological advancement.
