StoreMore: Development of Sustainable Energy Storage in Montenegro – Policies, Market, and Investments

The Montenegro Science and Technology Park is organizing a workshop titled “Development of Sustainable Energy Storage in Montenegro: Policies, Market, and Investments,” which will take place on February 10, 2026, in the MVP Hall (2nd floor) of the Montenegro Science and Technology Park in Podgorica, starting at 10:20 AM (participant registration from 10:00 AM).

The workshop is organized within the framework of the StoreMore project, in which the Montenegro Science and Technology Park participates alongside 11 other partners from 10 countries in the Danube region. The project aims to improve energy storage solutions, develop tools for easier integration of renewable energy sources, and prepare recommendations for enhancing existing policies and regulatory frameworks in the field of energy storage. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg Danube Program.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together representatives of relevant national institutions, the energy sector, transmission and distribution system operators, the academic and research community, the business sector, and other stakeholders to discuss, through expert presentations and interactive discussions, the following topics:

  • The existing regulatory and market framework in the EU and Montenegro,
  • Current trends, technologies, and investment opportunities in the field of energy storage,
  • Financial instruments and support mechanisms,
  • Recommendations for improving policies and increasing energy storage capacities in Montenegro

The workshop will be led by Radovan Nikčević, EU Project Manager for the Green Agenda and collaborator on the StoreMore project.
