Invitation to the Info Day for the Hackathon “SafeHack: Code for a Space Without Violence”

We invite all high school students and representatives of secondary schools in Montenegro to join the Info Day for the hackathon “SafeHack: Code for a Space Without Violence”, organized by the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro and the Council of Europe.

The event will be held on October 29, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m., in the “Birziminium” meeting room (ground floor) at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, with an option to attend online via a dedicated platform. For additional information about the event, please refer to the agenda available at this link.

The hackathon is part of the projects implemented by the Council of Europe, namely “Prevention of Violence in Schools in Montenegro”, funded by Germany, and the joint project with the European Union “Quality Education for All” (within the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye programme). These projects promote the values of tolerance, non-violence, cooperation, and mutual respect, thereby strengthening the school community and creating conditions for schools to become safe and supportive environments for everyone.

The goal of the hackathon is to engage students and encourage them to develop innovative digital and other solutions through teamwork and creativity, promoting positive behavior and creating violence-free schools. We aim to inspire young people to build a community where everyone feels safe, respected, and free to express their opinions without fear of violence or harassment.

The hackathon is organized by the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica, while the event facilitator is the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro (STP) in Podgorica.

During the Info Day, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the goals and purpose of the hackathon, as well as the process for registration and participation. Special emphasis will be placed on digital tools and ideas that can contribute to violence prevention and the creation of a safer school environment.
