Yesterday, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro hosted the conference “Sustainable City as a Service, with a Focus on Transport and Mobility,” inspired by successful practices from Finland. The event brought together representatives from institutions, businesses, and the academic community from Montenegro and Nordic countries, aiming to exchange experiences and strengthen partnerships in sustainable urban development, smart transport, and mobility.
The conference is part of the project “Nordic Green and Smart Cities – Building Partnerships in the Western Balkan Countries,” supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers and implemented in collaboration with the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, as well as the Nordic Business Alliance.
The conference was opened by the Ambassador of Finland, H.E. Niklas Lindqvist, who emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Nordic countries and Montenegro in developing smart and sustainable urban environments. In the opening session, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, Tatjana Ćalasan, and the Executive Director of the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, Valentina Radulović, spoke, highlighting the importance of innovation, mobility, and sustainable planning for the future of Montenegrin cities.
During the panel “Institutions Building Partnerships – Montenegro and Nordic Countries,” participants discussed how joint actions by the public, private, and academic sectors can accelerate the transition to greener and smarter cities.

As part of the conference, B2B meetings were organized between Finnish and local companies to foster networking and exchange of experiences. The event concluded with workshops on “Urban Mobility Problem Solved – Looking Back From 2030” and “Smart Cities and Future Transport Solutions,” led by experts from Finland.
The event contributed to further strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the fields of sustainable development and innovation.
