Science and Technology Park of Montenegro has become the headquarters of the National Office for the Horizon Europe programme

The Science and Technology Park of Montenegro has become the headquarters of the National Office for the Horizon Europe programme, thereby providing Montenegrin researchers, innovators, and companies with stronger institutional support for participation in the largest European programme for research and innovation.

The Horizon Europe programme represents the European Union’s key financial instrument for supporting science, technology, and innovation, with a total budget exceeding €95 billion for the period 2021–2027. As announced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the programme finances cutting-edge research, the development of new technologies, the digital and green transition, as well as the strengthening of the competitiveness of the European economy.

The National Office for the Horizon Europe programme will provide support to all relevant stakeholders in Montenegro—researchers, universities, startups, innovative companies, and institutions—throughout the process of joining this prestigious programme. The support includes information on open calls, advice on programme rules and procedures, assistance in developing project ideas, and facilitation of connections with international partners.

By housing the National Office within the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, the position of STP Montenegro as a central institution for the development of innovation, knowledge transfer, and the linkage between the scientific community and the economy is further reinforced, as well as its role as a key actor in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem.

The opening of the National Office for the Horizon Europe programme represents a significant step forward in strengthening Montenegro’s innovation and research potential, as well as in ensuring its more active and visible participation in European research and development activities.
