The Acceleration Program for Startups in the Field of Agriculture

The Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation Between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (APACCCEEC) is starting the implementation of the pilot project “Acceleration Program for Agricultural Startups Between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries.” On behalf of Montenegro, the Science and Technology Park is a partner in this program, which will be held from March 27 to April 1, 2023, at Sofia Tech Park, Bulgaria. The goal of the acceleration program is to attract young and entrepreneurial individuals to the agricultural sector and support the development of innovative services, applications, and products in agriculture. The application process for participation in the accelerator started on January 10, 2023, and will run until March 10. The program aims to create innovative solutions for food waste, carbon neutrality in agriculture, food technologies, irrigation systems, circular economy in food and beverage supply chains, and more. On the final day, 20 startup teams selected for participation will present their business concepts and projects to an external jury, as well as to investors, representatives of the academic community and business, experts, media, and diplomats from CEE countries and China. The top three projects of the twenty finalists will receive financial rewards: 1st place – 25,000 EUR; 2nd place – 15,000 EUR; 3rd place – 10,000 EUR. APACCCEEC will cover accommodation during the program and transportation to/from Sofia for selected finalists who are registered outside the city of Sofia. The ambition of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bulgaria, APACCCEEC, and its partners is for this initiative to become an annual event, contributing to the spread of innovative solutions in agriculture and connecting the entrepreneurial ecosystems of CEE countries and China.
