Science and innovation for the blue economy: STP Montegro and the Institute of marine biology strengthen cooperation

A meeting was held at the Montenegro science and technology park with prof. Mirko Đurović, phd, director of the Institute of marine biology from Kotor, during which ideas were exchanged on connecting science and technology through joint projects.

The Director of STP Montenegro, ms. Valentina Radulović, and mr. Radivoje Drobnjak, Program activities manager, discussed with professor Đurović the possibilities of applying innovative technologies in the field of blue economy, marine ecosystem protection, and sustainable resource management. Both institutions share a vision of the importance of connecting scientific research with technological solutions in order to enable the practical application of scientific knowledge and encourage innovations that can bring concrete benefits to society and the economy.

A special focus was placed on future projects in which STP Montenegro and the Institute of marine biology would jointly participate, utilizing the resources, knowledge, and expertise of both sides. The discussion also covered enhancing collaboration through knowledge exchange, the development of new research initiatives, and joint applications for international projects.

This meeting marks another step towards strengthening the synergy between science and innovation in Montenegro, with a clear ambition to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the field of marine protection, sustainable resource use, and the advancement of the blue economy through joint projects.
