Applications for participation in the Social Impact Award (SIA) 2023 competition are officially open and will run until May 31st, 23:59. Everyone who applies through the Application and Evaluation Platform will be able to work on draft versions of their ideas until they are sure of the final version they wish to submit.

Applicants for the Social Impact Award Montenegro 2023 must meet the following requirements:

All team members must be born between January 1, 1993, and December 31, 2008.

At least one team member must have residency in Montenegro.

The idea with which the application is submitted must not have received funding or generated revenue before January 1, 2022.

4.The idea with which the application is submitted must not have received formal financial support from other donors, such as a €3,000 prize, grants, or investments, before the submission date.

Previous year’s winners can apply with the same idea, but with a different team composition.

7.They must move their draft idea to the status of the final idea, as this officially makes them part of the SIA competition.

8.Only complete applications submitted through the Application and Evaluation Platform within the given deadline will be considered.

All teams that apply undergo a selection process and evaluation by an expert jury. Based on their votes, the 10 best ideas move to the final. The finalists then go through an incubation period, which consists of three months of intensive work on developing their projects with assigned mentors and experts to transform their idea into a sustainable business model (from July to September).

The expert jury, composed of representatives from government institutions, the scientific and academic community, and the business sector, selects the 3 best ideas based on the criteria: innovation, social impact, and feasibility. The selected teams win initial capital of €1,500, mentoring support, and a secured trip (for one team member) to the SIA Summit, which will be held in Belgrade this year from November 28 to December 2.
