The Minister of education, science, and innovation, prof.Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović,phd the rector of the University of Montenegro, prof. Vladimir Božović,phd, and the executive director of the Science and technology park of Montenegro, ms. Valentina Radulović, today signed a Memorandum of understanding aimed at creating conditions for technological transfer in Montenegro. This marks the beginning of a new phase in the national system of support for innovation development.
The subject of the Memorandum is the establishment of a Technology transfer office (TTO) that will operate at the national level and be located within the Science and technology park of Montenegro. The TTO will carry out its activities with the goal of improving cooperation between the academic and business communities.
The main goal is to bridge the gap between research and market application, support the growth of a knowledge-based economy, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and create new employment opportunities. This will, in the long term, contribute to positioning Montenegro as a regional hub for innovation and technology transfer.
he Technology transfer office will work on promoting collaboration between the academic community and the private sector, with the aim of developing new products, services, and technologies that will enhance the competitiveness and economic strength of the country. The office will provide expert support and high-quality services, ensuring that innovative ideas find their way to the market.
The target groups and end users of the Technology transfer office are universities, research institutions, innovators, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, entrepreneurs, investors, government bodies, and international partners. This will enable synergy between knowledge and innovation.
This Memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening technological development and innovation in Montenegro, and the Technology transfer office joins other stakeholders in the mission of building a sustainable innovation ecosystem.
