Encouraging innovation in agriculture and rural development: STP and the Biotechnical faculty strengthen collaboration

How can we connect science, innovation, and entrepreneurship in agriculture? Today at STP, together with the Biotechnical faculty of University of Montenegro, we explored new opportunities! We discussed strengthening collaboration through projects, developing entrepreneurial skills for creating innovations, advancing smart and sustainable agriculture, and enhancing rural areas through joint initiatives.

Innovations in agriculture don’t start only in laboratories but also in the entrepreneurial spirit of researchers and students who have a vision of how to enhance traditional methods with modern solutions. That is why connecting the Biotechnical Faculty and the Scientific and technological park of Montenegro is a key step in strengthening entrepreneurial skills in agro-innovation. Through joint programs such as SkillsUp, students and researchers have the opportunity to develop knowledge and acquire skills for creating business models that will transform their research into market-ready products. The digitalization of agriculture, innovative approaches to resource utilization, and sustainable food systems are all areas where collaboration between the academic community and the innovation ecosystem can yield tangible results.

Connecting the laboratory capacities of the Biotechnical faculty with the resources and mentorship at STP can create new opportunities for the valorization of rural areas through smart technological solutions.

The joint efforts of the academic and innovation communities are key to the smart development of Montenegro!
