President Drakić on a visit to the Scientific and technological park of Montenegro

President of the Chamber of commerce of Montenegro, Nina Drakić,phd visited the Scientific and technological park, where she discussed with the director, ms. Valentina Radulović, the current cooperation and ways in which it can be improved in the upcoming period.

During the meeting, the possibilities of launching joint initiatives were discussed, which would contribute to the development of an innovative ecosystem, improvement of the business environment, and strengthening the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy through technological advancement. Special focus was placed on providing support to small and medium-sized enterprises in the process of digitalization, as well as on connecting the economy with scientific and research institutions.

The Chamber of commerce of Montenegro is continuously working on improving the business environment and supporting economic entities, and cooperation with the Scientific and technological park is crucial for the development of innovative solutions and new business models, stated the President of the chamber. She emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation with the program sector of the Scientific and technological park, as well as the Technology transfer office (TTO) that exists within the STP. It is very important to familiarize our members with both the role of the STP support programs for the development of entrepreneurial skills and business ideas, as well as the role of the TTO/office, she said, since it deals with managing intellectual property and commercializing research results, connecting the academic community with the economy through patent protection, technology licensing, and supporting innovation projects, thereby promoting the application of scientific achievements in industry and the economy.

The director of the Scientific and technological park emphasized the importance of networking between the economy and the academic community, which should contribute to encouraging the application of scientific research in practice, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of montenegrin companies in the regional and international markets.

During the meeting, the realization of joint activities was agreed upon, including the organization of educational programs, workshops, and events that will enable entrepreneurs to better utilize the opportunities brought by digitalization and modern technologies.

The leaders of the two institutions also discussed upcoming activities they will implement as partners in the MontEDIH project, the first digital innovation hub established in our country, which belongs to the network of European hubs of this kind. With the support of the European commission through the Digital Europe program, new opportunities are opening up to support the domestic economy on its path to digital and green transformation.

The cooperation between The chamber of commerce and the Scientific and technological park represents an important step toward strengthening Montenegro’s innovation potential and creating a sustainable business environment tailored to the needs of the modern market, concluded Drakić and Radulović at the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Tanja Radusinović, director of the sector for projects, and Nada Rakočević, secretary of the OU ICT at the Chamber of commerce, as well as mr. Radivoje Drobnjak, Program Manager at the NTP, and Srna Sudar,phd director of the Technology transfer office.
