STP TEAM: New Year’s cocktail as the crowning achievement of 2024

The New Year’s cocktail was held at the Science and technology park, an event designed to bring us together, inspire us, and enrich our shared moments in a warm holiday atmosphere. This special occasion was the perfect blend of idea exchange, celebrating success, and enjoying socializing that fosters a sense of community.

The program began in the Unicorn hall, where we celebrated our shared journey towards innovation through a conference dedicated to the key achievements of STP. The magic was brought by the Vasa Pavić choir, which started the performance with the Anthem and concluded with the magnificent “Ode to Joy.” The touching tones of the 14 choir singers, under the direction of professor Kaća Šćekić, filled the room with unforgettable energy.

A special moment was marked by the support of our strategic partner, Montenegrin Telecom, which presented the talented choir stars with unique gifts – wireless headphones, symbolically emphasizing the importance of creativity, art, and innovation.

With a warm welcome, Radivoje Drobnjak, the program activities manager of the Science and technology park, addressed the guests and introduced the speakers.

The attendees were then addressed by prof. Boban Melović, phd, chairman of the Board of directors of STP, Valentina Radulović, executive director of STP, and Ivan Šoć, founder of Five Group, in his role as a representative of the tenants.

In her address, Valentina Radulović highlighted key achievements: In the past year, STP supported 110 events and implemented 4 public calls – three for potential tenants and one for evaluators. Out of 38 applications, 26 were accepted, and final negotiations and the move-in of the first tenants are underway.

Significant results have been achieved in the implementation of programs, including participation in the BOOSTME UP program with Tehnopolis and the support program “Empowering youth.” The Pre-incubation program SkillsUp stands out, having brought together 24 students from Montenegro, resulting in 7 startups aligned with the criteria of Smart specialization. Additionally, in collaboration with the Council of Europe, a hackathon “Equal Hack: Code for Equality” was organized for high school students, focusing on inclusion and quality education.

STP has implemented 4 EU-funded donor projects, through which Montenegro established cooperation with 50 institutions from 20 countries. As a key result of these projects, a Technology transfer office (TTO) was established, further strengthening support for innovation and development.

These exceptional results would not have been possible without our amazing community – entrepreneurs, researchers, mentors, investors, and partners from the public and private sectors. Their dedication, vision, and hard work continually inspire us to set new goals and boldly move forward.

In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, guests enjoyed a festive cocktail organized in the STP space, accompanied by pleasant socializing and refreshments.

This event was much more than a celebration – it was a festive reminder of the power of unity and a visionary encouragement for the new victories that lie ahead.
