The Institute of Modern Technologies of Montenegro (IMTM) was established in 2012 with the vision of becoming a center of excellence in the field of modern technologies, providing an efficient and effective transfer of knowledge between science, industry, and the community. The Institute focuses on applying the latest technological advancements in real-world economic and societal sectors, contributing to the digital transformation and technological development of Montenegro and the region. Today, IMTM is recognized for its innovative research projects and the development of advanced digital solutions, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity, medical informatics, sustainable development, and the green economy. Through multidisciplinary approaches and international cooperation, the Institute makes a significant contribution to the successful digital transformation of Montenegro’s economy, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to access modern technologies and professional development opportunities.

The Institute of Modern Technologies of Montenegro has successfully implemented more than 20 research and innovation projects co-financed by the EU through programmes such as Interreg, Horizon Europe, Eureka, Erasmus, Tempus, and IPA.

The Institute’s key activities focus on:

1. Innovation Development – from the development and implementation of innovative concepts to the evaluation of technical solutions.
2. Research – conducting multidisciplinary research in the development and application of digital technologies.
