British Council Montenegro – current calls in the field of cybersecurity

1. Call for Companies: Cybersecurity Internship under the CyberHER Programme

British Council and Propulsion invite advanced companies from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia to host female interns through the Her Cyber: Empowering Women and Girls in Cyber Internship programme.

CybHER is a regional initiative dedicated to empowering women and girls in cybersecurity and developing a diverse and inclusive digital workforce across the Western Balkans.          

Only companies whose core activity is cybersecurity, or those that have a dedicated cybersecurity department and specific cybersecurity personnel, are eligible to participate.

Each selected company will host interns within their cybersecurity team for a period of three months (estimated dates: September–December 2025). Interested candidates should adhere to the following:

  •  Final-year undergraduate students in IT or engineering, or
  • Recent graduates in IT or engineering who are actively seeking employment
  • or master’s students in IT or engineering who are looking to enter the job market.

Participating organizations will:

  • Offer a three-month placement within their cybersecurity sector or project
  • Define learning objectives and real-world tasks for the intern
  • Appoint a mentor to guide the intern’s development
  • Ensure a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Accept the internship scholarship arrangement (the British Council fully covers the scholarship).

Companies interested in hosting CybHER interns are invited to express their interest by completing the application form by June 30, 2025.

2.Apply for a Cybersecurity Internship – Her Cyber: Empowering Women and Girls in Cyber

As part of the Her Cyber: Empowering Women and Girls in Cyber programme, funded by the United Kingdom Government, we invite women from Montenegro to apply for a fully paid, three-month internship at reputable companies and institutions in the telecommunications, banking, insurance, IT, public administration, and other relevant sectors.

Application criteria

We are looking for women who are fluent in English and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Final-year undergraduate students in IT, engineering, or related fields
  • Recent graduates in IT or engineering who are actively seeking employment
  • Master’s students in IT or engineering who are looking to enter the job market

Candidates must be legal residents of Montenegro, as the internship will take place within the country.

3.Call for Cybersecurity Consultant and Gender & Career Guidance Consultant – CybHER

The Her Cyber: Empowering Women and Girls in Cyber programme aims to increase the participation of women and girls in the cybersecurity workforce across the Western Balkans. The programme focuses on creating a more inclusive and gender-diverse environment by strengthening the ecosystem that supports the professional development of women in this sector.

Within this programme, we are announcing a call for short-term consultants for the following positions:

  • Cybersecurity Consultant
  • Gender and Career Guidance Consultant

Selected consultants will play a key role in developing and implementing interventions that contribute to gender balance and the empowerment of women in the cybersecurity sector.
