The Power of knowledge and imagination: Girls in ICT at the Science and technology park of Montenegro

April at the Science and technology park of Montenegro is a month of inspiration, knowledge, and girls who are breaking boundaries! In collaboration with Women4Cyber Montenegro, BIP Tech, the Child Rights Centre of Montenegro, and the NGO Parental Strength Bar, STP organized two events designed to empower young girls to believe in themselves and step boldly into the world of technology and innovation.

On April 19th, young science enthusiasts had the opportunity to attend the promotion of the book “Cyber Princess Eli@ and the Magic Algorithm,” along with a conversation featuring the authors and inspiring women who are transforming the educational and digital landscape of Montenegro every day. Among the speakers was Valentina Radulović, director of the Science and technology park of Montenegro, who, together with colleagues from various fields, encouraged the girls to follow their dreams. The robotics workshop also drew special attention – a perfect blend of play, knowledge, and imagination!

The main event, “Small Idea, Big Change,” was held on April 24th and brought together girls from primary schools who, through the Mini EXPO segment and creative workshops, took their first steps into the world of entrepreneurship and innovation. They met local heroines of the ICT world – women behind successful startups: Jasna Pejović (Flourish), Marija Radunović (Visit Village), Milica Matović and Ivana Gazivoda (MyTurn), Sanja Gardašević (Zuno), Marina Ćupić (Solutaria), as well as Ana Bašanović, Itana Radičević, and Teodora Đogović from the Sentiment Scope team.

During the event, they shared their experiences on how to develop an idea, identify user needs, and what the process of creating meaningful innovations looks like. The role of facilitator was taken on by Vladan Mašanović, Associate for Activity Implementation on Donor-Funded Projects at STP, who, together with the inspiring speakers, supported the teams in designing brilliant projects with the help of their mentors. In the end, with great confidence, they presented their ideas to the audience, sending a powerful message: “I can be the one who creates the future!”

The Science and technology park of Montenegro continues its mission to inspire, connect, and support young minds—because the future of technology needs more girls who believe in themselves and their ideas. Through building an inclusive ecosystem, STP is committed to increasing the participation of women in entrepreneurship, creating opportunities for the development of their ideas and startups.
