“As a separate segment of the Cortex Academy, the cluster members’ education programs are designed for children, students, high school students, and anyone who wants to specialize, retrain, or improve their existing knowledge in one of the ICT fields. Through the official Cortex academy website, over the next month, all interested parties can apply for more than 50 courses in 5 areas: project management, marketing, programming, software testing, and design.” – announced ICT Cortex.
Interested individuals can apply through the website: academy.ictcortex.me until December 22, 2021, after which the selection process will follow. The education is planned to start in February 2022. Some of the offered courses include: Web Application Programming – frontend and backend focus, Hardware Programming, Game Development, Basics of Web Coding, Linux and Network Administrator, Data Science for Dummies, Deploying of Machine learning, Digital marketing, and many others. Most of the courses are free, while some are paid.
In addition to the courses organized by the cluster members, there is an option to apply for more than 34 online educational programs that will be accessible online through the Cortex platform.
Besides the umbrella education program for cluster members, the Cortex Academy will also include programs initiated and carried out by ICT Cortex independently or with external partners. All the mentioned projects aim to strengthen corporate education and contribute to the education system by engaging the economy in modernizing curricula and training personnel.
As a reminder, some of the founders of the ICT cluster participated in the creation of the curriculum for the Electrical engineering school, Web and mobile application development track, which is tailored to meet the needs of the job market. The first generation at the ETŠ “Vaso Aligrudić” in Podgorica, which worked according to this curriculum, had the opportunity to complete a 7-week internship with cluster member companies. Additionally, these students were given the chance to attend the Optimus smart academy for free, where they were introduced to the basics of digital electronics and creating solutions based on the concept of the Internet of Things.
The greatest contribution of the ICT Cortex cluster in the field of education is also the joint participation of ICT Cortex and ETŠ “Vaso Aligrudić” in Podgorica in a project that will receive support through the Regional challenge fund. This is a consortium project led by ETŠ “Vaso Aligrudić,” with IT companies, cluster members of ICT Cortex (Bild studio, Amplitudo, Datadesign, Alicorn), and the company Mont-inženjering.
The financial support provided by the Regional Challenge Fund for the implementation of this project is half a million euros, and the project will start in 2022. It is important to note that all funds will be directed towards the modernization and equipping of the school, while consortium members will provide mentorship to students, helping them acquire skills aligned with labor market needs.
