Timely information and access to appropriate funding sources often represent a turning point in the development of any innovative business. Recognizing the importance of continuous networking and direct communication between the business community and institutions, the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, in partnership with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, continues to build a reliable support bridge through the LinkUp platform. The fifth edition of the event, held on 14 October at our premises, reaffirmed the local ecosystem’s strong need for this type of initiative, bringing together 45 participants eager to explore new funding opportunities, European funding programmes, and ways to improve their business models.

The October gathering featured a highly practical and diverse programme, focusing on current financial instruments and available public calls for proposals. Participants had the opportunity to hear from Davor Kunc, representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB), who provided a detailed overview of the support mechanisms the institution offers to businesses.Building on the importance of national funding instruments, Dragomir Marković from the Innovation Fund of Montenegro presented available funding programmes designed to support the development of innovative projects and companies.Particular attention was also drawn to the presentation by representatives of ADP ZID, who introduced participants to the “Invest for Change” programme. Targeting social enterprises and businesses with a positive social impact, this initiative offers an opportunity to apply for valuable grants ranging from €20,000 to €25,000.

In addition to national and regional growth opportunities, participants were able to explore a broader international business perspective. Nina Perunović, representing the EIT Community Hub Montenegro, presented current calls for proposals and resources made available to startups and entrepreneurs by the European innovation community.Following her presentation, Anđelka Hajdek provided insights into the complex opportunities for funding and international cooperation available through European projects and funding programmes. The official presentations were followed by the most dynamic part of the event: dedicated time for B2B meetings and informal networking. Through direct conversations with the speakers, participants were able to ask specific questions and establish valuable contacts to support their future activities.

Looking at the bigger picture, the continuity of the initiative and the growing interest of Montenegro’s business community best demonstrate the value of this platform. Since its launch in April this year, we are proud to have hosted five successful LinkUp events, recording a total of 274 attendances.

Through these events, local entrepreneurs have had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into key instruments for fostering innovation, driving digital and green transformation, and supporting business internationalization.

With each new gathering, LinkUp continues to fulfil its core mission: creating a supportive environment where the right information translates into opportunities, new connections develop into long-term partnerships, and visionary ideas turn into tangible business results.
