The renowned media outlet Westbalkan Briefing, in its latest special report titled \u201cMontenegro on the Path to the EU,\u201d has devoted particular attention to the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n
In the document, which provides a detailed analysis of our country\u2019s economic progress and European prospects, STP Montenegro is highlighted as one of the most significant infrastructure projects, earning the distinction of being a \u201cbridge between science and industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
The fact that STP Montenegro has become a hub of the country\u2019s innovation ecosystem is best demonstrated by the fact that our facilities are fully occupied. The community currently comprises 46 resident companies and teams, including promising startups, spin-off teams, and development companies. The renowned publication notes that, since its opening, STP Montenegro has been the country\u2019s most active hub for connecting innovators, hosting more than 600 events, including hackathons, international conferences, and competitions for young people.<\/p>\n\n
All these activities, together with 10 specialised programmes supporting the development of entrepreneurial skills, are closely aligned with the National Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), helping to build a solid foundation for long-term economic growth.<\/p>\n\n
A key strength highlighted in the report is the unique combination of professional and infrastructural support. Through our Technology Transfer Office and PATLIB Centre, we provide innovators and researchers with comprehensive support in protecting intellectual property and commercialising their ideas on the market. In addition, the integration of five state-of-the-art laboratories of the University of Montenegro has created the necessary environment for advanced research across various fields, representing a key resource for modern technology entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n
A significant portion of the report is dedicated to our strong international positioning. With eight active European projects and as many as 14 new applications for EU funding, STP Montenegro is actively integrating Montenegro into global knowledge flows. Membership in the prestigious European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN), along with international recognition as the best innovation and startup hub in Montenegro, clearly confirms the quality of our work, which extends beyond the borders of our country.<\/p>\n\n
However, as the Westbalkan Briefing report concludes, the greatest strength of the Science and Technology Park is not just its modern infrastructure and programmes, but its people.
