Yesterday, December 1st, the national PATLIB Center \u201cIP4Innovation\u201d was officially opened at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and the European Patent Office (EPO). Located within the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), this center now serves as the central hub of support for researchers, entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators in the field of intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n
The opening was marked by the presence of EPO President Ant\u00f3nio Campinos, Minister of Economic Development Nik \u0110eljo\u0161aj, and STP MNE Director Valentina Radulovi\u0107, highlighting the significance of this milestone for innovation development and strengthening Montenegro\u2019s connection with the European IP system. Their support affirms confidence in the potential of Montenegro\u2019s innovation community and the strategic importance of intellectual property for the country\u2019s economic and technological advancement.<\/p>\n\n
By joining the European network of over 300 PATLIB centers, \u201cIP4Innovation\u201d now connects Montenegrin innovations with the best European practices, expertise, and modern tools. This enhances national competitiveness, strengthens technology transfer, and creates an environment where ideas can be effectively protected and commercialized.<\/p>\n\n
Today\u2019s event brought together representatives from the EPO, the relevant ministry, the academic community, startups, and the business sector. During expert sessions and panel discussions, participants explored how intellectual property rights can accelerate technological development, enhance innovation potential, and foster a knowledge-based economy.<\/p>\n\n
With the opening of the PATLIB Center \u201cIP4Innovation,\u201d Montenegro has taken a significant step today toward building a strong innovation ecosystem and a European future for its innovators.
