On Friday, September 26, 2025, an agreement was signed between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro (STP MNE) on the establishment of a Laboratory for Research in the Field of Robotics<\/strong> within the research and innovation infrastructure of STP MNE.<\/p>\n\n

This is the first in a series of specialized laboratories<\/strong> to be established within STP MNE, creating a solid foundation for development based on science, research, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n

For the first time in Montenegro, advanced research infrastructure will be available to the innovation community free of charge,<\/strong> representing a significant step forward in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n

The work and development of this infrastructure are coordinated by the Technology Transfer Office within the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro,<\/strong> with the aim of making it a hub for connecting academic knowledge with the practical needs of industry.<\/p>\n\n

The establishment of the laboratory represents a tangible synergy between the academic community and the business sector in Montenegro,<\/strong> with STP MNE both demonstrating and leading<\/strong> the strengthening of ties between science and industry.<\/p>\n\n

The laboratory has already produced its first results \u2013 three combined teams of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Montenegro<\/strong> prepared robots for the World Robot Olympiad (WRO)<\/strong> in the Future Engineers category. Their task was to create autonomous robots that navigate a designated terrain, avoid obstacles, and complete their movement in the parking zone.<\/p>\n\n

At the qualifying competition in Zenica (May 24, 2025), which featured teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, the Montenegrin teams achieved outstanding success \u2013 the first two places were claimed by Montenegrin teams,<\/strong> securing their qualification for the WRO Open Championship \u2013 Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A special achievement was made by the team \u201cLithium Batteries\u201d<\/strong> (Ljubica Medigovi\u0107 \u2013 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Andrej Jankovi\u0107 \u2013 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Luka Kankara\u0161 \u2013 Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Sara Stijepovi\u0107 \u2013 Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics), which won third place<\/strong> at the European competition!<\/p>\n\n

This result demonstrates that investment in research infrastructure yields tangible outcomes \u2013 it motivates young people, connects science and innovation, and contributes to Montenegro\u2019s international positioning in the field of advanced technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
